The 2015 Calistoga Food and Wine Event

Two Days of Calistoga Wines and Locally-Grown Ingredients at The Calistoga Food and Wine Event

Finally, Calistoga has a food and wine event worthy of its world-class wineries and restaurants.

At this year’s Calistoga Food and Wine Event, happening April 24th & 25th, you can expect to taste a wide variety of local Napa Valley wines paired with samplings from the Solbar kitchen and other local chefs from the Calistoga culinary community.

The Main Event – Friday’s Grand Tasting

The main Grand Tasting Event is Friday night, April 24th, from 6:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. It will take place outdoors here at Solage Calistoga, and will feature wines from 30 Calistoga wineries as well as 5 live cooking stations showcasing the Solbar’s Executive Chef Brandon Sharp and guest chefs Rylon Agustin of SF’s Commissary and Bradley Borchardt of Expanding Palates.

In keeping with the local theme, all food pairings at the Grand Tasting will feature locally-grown ingredients.

It wouldn’t be a Calistoga party without some home-grown music, with the old-time bluegrass band Ed Neff & Friends. Ed is a foot-stomping mandolin player and a staple of the Bay area music scene. He performs weekly at the Willowbrook Ale House, a gig he’s held for 12 years straight (the longest-running weekly gig in Northern California).

New in 2015 – Saturday’s Winemaker Dinners

Make a weekend out of it and join us Saturday night for one of 4 Winemaker Dinners. You’ll be dining in an intimate setting with some of Calistoga’s most respected winemakers. It’s sure to be an unforgettable night of fine food and perfectly paired California wine.

Saturday night’s options are:

  • Larkmead Vineyards at Larkmead. Featuring wines from their own vineyard and a four-course meal including lamb in red wine butter sauce and chocolate brioche bread pudding.
  • Jericho Canyon Vineyard at Jole Restaurant. Tapas, king salmon, and the “DB Burger” – Jole’s braised short ribs on a parmesan bun. Highlights include Jericho Canyon’s 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Chateau Montelena Winery & Jack Brooks Vineyard at Evangeline. Jack Brooks and Chateau Montelena combine to offer their prized wines paired with Evangeline’s New Orleans-inspired fare, including Grimaud Farms duck and tarte tatin.
  • Laura Michael Wines & Ziata Wines at Sam’s Social Club. Try a Ziata Sauvignon Blanc paired with grilled morel mushrooms, Laura Michael Wines Chardonnay paired with mozzarella burrata and mint pesto, and so much more.
